◆Summary:
Allegations of anticompetitive conduct by a global corporation can lead to multiple, concurrent investigations by different competition regulatory bodies. The panelists -- who are experienced professionals in cross-border antitrust investigations -- will talk about recent trends in cross-border investigations; factors to consider when deciding whether to cooperate with or push back against regulatory bodies; cautionary tales and general tips on coordinating responses to multiple governmental authorities.


◆About CLE Credit
WilmerHale has been accredited by the New York State and California State Continuing Legal Education Boards as a provider of continuing legal education. This program is being planned with the intention to offer CLE credit in California and non-transitional credit in New York. This program, therefore, is being planned with the intention to offer CLE credit for experienced New York attorneys only. Attendees of this program may be able to claim England & Wales CPD. WilmerHale has been approved as a Colorado Certified Provider, as recognized by the Colorado Supreme Court Continuing Legal and Judicial Education Committee. We will apply for Colorado CLE (after the program) if requested. The type and amount of credit awarded will be determined solely by the Colorado Supreme Court. New Jersey grants reciprocal credit for programs that are approved in New York. We can also issue Connecticut credit. All attendees, regardless of jurisdiction, will receive a uniform certificate of attendance that shows the states in which the program was approved. CLE credit is not available for on-demand webinar recordings.

Affirmation Form: All attorneys who participate via webconference only must complete an affirmation form, including the code word, to receive CLE credit. Attorneys should submit their completed affirmation forms to Mary Lynn Stoffel within 10 days of the program. Her email information is included in the affirmation form.

April Williams has significant experience representing companies and individuals in complex civil and criminal cases, and in investigations throughout the United States and abroad. She has counseled and represented clients in a wide variety of government investigations, including investigations by the US Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Ms. Williams has also handled sensitive internal reviews into a variety of matters, including workplace culture issues, and provides clients with strategic compliance counseling. She has represented clients at various stages of litigation, including discovery, motions practice, trial preparation and sentencing.

Ms. Williams chairs the Washington DC office’s Diversity Committee and co-chairs the firm’s Racial Justice Reform Initiative.

Claire Bergeron’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation matters, including those arising under the Sherman and Clayton Antitrust Acts, the Antiterrorism Act and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Ms. Bergeron has extensive experience researching and writing dispositive motions, briefs and white papers, and she has handled a broad array of discovery matters. She has also represented clients in connection with investigations and enforcement matters conducted by the US Department of Justice and the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Ms. Bergeron is a co-author of the North America chapter in the forthcoming Edward Elgar Publishing “Research Handbook on Cartels.”

Prior to joining WilmerHale, Ms. Bergeron was an associate policy analyst at the Migration Policy Institute in Washington, where she co-authored several key publications on US immigration enforcement, naturalization trends and integration issues. She also previously worked as a Board of Immigration Appeals accredited representative at the National Immigrant Justice Center in Chicago.
